Return for Children is a national charitable initiative that transforms everyday recycling into meaningful support for children and families across Ireland. Established in partnership with Re-turn, the campaign enables the public and businesses to donate the deposit value of their drinks containers through Ireland’s Deposit Return Scheme.
The initiative brings together six of Ireland’s leading children’s charities – Make-A-Wish Ireland, Barretstown, Barnardos, Childline, Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation and LauraLynn Children’s Hospice. Together, these organisations support thousands of children and families every year through medical, emotional, therapeutic and practical services.
Return for Children offers a simple but powerful way for organisations to embed sustainability and social impact into everyday operations. By diverting empty drinks containers into dedicated Return for Children collection bins, companies can ensure that the deposit value is donated directly to support vulnerable children across Ireland.
We are currently looking for more businesses and organisations to participate in the Return for Children initiative. By signing up, your company can donate its empty Re-turn logo drink containers, with employees effectively contributing the deposits charged on plastic bottles and cans towards the six national children’s charities.
Re-turn will collect the bins from your organisation on an agreed schedule, making participation straightforward and easy to manage. To help promote the initiative internally and encourage staff engagement, organisations can also receive artwork to create branded bin surrounds, posters and pull-up banners that highlight the impact of the programme.
