rom a young age, Francis has always had a keen interest in science and technology. Having grown up under the awe-inspiring inky black skies of west Donegal, he dreamed of what was out there and developed a love of science fiction and the amazing technologies predicted in books and films.
Working part time during school enabled the purchase of his prized Sinclair ZX Spectrum home computer which advanced his love of technology and eventually led to a career in IT.
Over 30 years of that career has been spent leading the technology vision of IT distributor DataSolutions (recently acquired by Climb Channel Solutions). As CTO, he helped lead the significant growth of the company through the evaluation, selection, and promotion of cutting-edge technologies into the UK and Irish IT channels.
As Sustainable Technologies Ambassador for Techies Go Green, Francis believes that technology, when used appropriately, will play a key role in the solutions to our sustainability and climate goals.
